Welcome to Redcake’s Tea Shop and Emporium
Established in 1884 by Sir Bartley Redcake, Redcake’s Tea Shop and Emporium, fashionably located behind iron gates at the corner of Oxford and Regent Streets, is a safe place for ladies to shop and dine. As Redcake’s is currently owned by the Marchioness of Hatbrook, ladies of Quality are assured to find a culinary experience suited to their refined tastes.
We serve any manner of baked goods to discerning patrons, as well as our refined soups. Take home a delightful assortment of pastries from our bake shop, located to the right of our atrium.
For you ladies who are planning a wedding or special occasion, see Mr. Popham in the Bake Shop and ask him to ring for Betsy or Irene in the Fancy. Not only will we prepare a cake to your specifications, we can provide servers as well. Need more than just your cake? We offer a full service for your party. Please give us several months advance notice for busy wedding months and the London Season.
Our flagship location was so successful that we’ve opened Redcakes – Kensington. Visit us on the High Street!
Did you know that the Redcakes have a next generation series? It’s called The Grand Russe Hotel, which is run by a mysterious character named Peter Eyre, who is connected to the Redcakes family. In the late Victorian era, this hotel was opened by the family, and in 1924 it is reborn after a stunning set of murders closed the hotel. These are the stories of the Grand Russe…books eight-ten of the greater Redcakes series.
Series Order:
1. The Marquess of Cake (1886)
2. One Taste of Scandal (1887)
3. His Wicked Smile (1888)
4. The Kidnapped Bride (1888) a novella
5. Christmas Delights (1889)
6. Wedding Matilda (1890)
7. Trifling Favors (1892)
8. If I Had You (1924)
